Friday's Child : Wolfechild

I"m on a dip-dyed kick (still!). This week I've been doing dip-dyed silk chiffon skirts for my daughter's upcoming ballet schools performance, last year you may recall I dabbled with indigo making a tank for myself and a duvet cover for my son (I never did post it...) so it's no wonder I'm smitten with Wolfechild , be sure to check out there website for more adorable options!

If I Were an It Girl : Whites!

Utah : Who Knew?

My son recently did a game project on Utah. We made a scaled map and he marked various points of interest across the state that you needed to visit and then he gave facts about the landmarks so I'm not clueless on it's natural wonders, so if I ever do make it to Zion, Newspaper Rock or Dinosaur Park I'm hoping one of them is near this resort so I can relax here!

If I Were an It Girl : Liebeskind Bag

If I Were an It Girl I would already own this bag! As a non-It Girl, I am debating spending WAY more than what I normally spend on a bag. I found it at T.J.Maxx today, gotta love a job where the client has you spending your money in their shop before you've been paid! (Actually I found the bag the last time I was shopping for a job at TJs and I've been thinking about it ever since). I love working for TJMaxx but sometimes it can be torture. I mean everything is on sale there! On the bag front, It should be noted that most my bags come from the thrift store. As a woman getting on in years, I find I just can't carry pleather, and unfortunately I can't afford leather, well not the leather I want, but this Liebeskind is the perfect amount of cool (and well priced for leather!). A bag people will definately take notice of, the leather is like butter, yet it doesn't cost a month's rent (maybe even less than a month's gas!). As I type this I'm thinking, it's always good business to wear a client's merchandise when working for them...

Screen Free Week

This week is Screen Free Week and yes I'm writing this post. That said the kids have been screen free, the beautiful weather we've been experience certainly makes it easier! After the park after school it's homework/dinner time leaving only an hour or so to fill. Last night we went to the craft store for craft supplies for a school project for my son and just craft supplies to keep my daughter busy in general! She does love crafts and generally spends an hour or so daily painting, drawing, glueing, cutting paper-up, you name it. She bought some Sculptey and this evening got to work on sticking it to a styrofoam ball she found somewhere. I have no idea of what she's making, but I learned a few years ago when people started giving her kits way beyond her capabilities (she's 6) just to let her do what she wants. Utimately it's not about the final project, but her enjoying herself! Tonight her brother had baseball so we made dinner then baked brownie cookies as a surprise treat for when he came home. Tomorrow is the real test, they have no after school activities and I am working so someone else will be watching them, here's hoping the sculptey does it's job till I get home!
